Okay, guess that answers my question. Second question, is there anyone that might be interested in meeting once a month to get something started?

Here is a suggestion. I meet with the East Side Miata club every Wed at the Sonics on Hillsborough. I go because we also have a Miata, and we meet after work. So I am the only lonely RX-8 (honorary member) there.

I am not into the street racing scene here (not knockin' it), but I do enjoy my car. If anyone is interested in meeting either you can respond to this thread, or stop by Sonics on a Wed after work and we can meet. Just a thought, any feedback would be appreciated.

Actually a few of us were talking and we wanted to do a regular (first Sat. every month) Central FL meet. The next one would actually be in Tampa and we would rotate between somewhere around the CFL area to facilitate everyone's location. If you want to set something up I already know there's 3 or 4 of us that would roll out.

 

yeah im up for doing it near tampa and orlando, and maby even out at the east coast daytona area.

I am in....now that I am an owner again. I wanted to make the August meet but with hurricanes etc didnt. Doesnt have to be an elaborate meet...just kinda center it around something simple.

 

So what about Nov 5th? Would everyone be down for a drive/meet?

What about the Brandon area? Have you guys been out there before. It is a bit before Tampa. Nice area.

There is a brew house out there called Barley Hoppers and it has a large clean lot that has newly built shops that haven't opened yet that won't mind a crowd.

I haven't been to the one in Ybor, so I don't know about the space there.

The one in Brandon has outdoor seating so you can eat and talk and see your car. I'm down for any location though.

That barley hoppers place looks good. Friday, Nov. 4th sounds good to me.

I get off work at 4pm, plus i dont want to drive in traffic, if i can avoid it...what time would we need to leave, i have gone to the miata meet out in brandon a few times, it took about 1.25 hrs to drive it, all on I4.

The orlando people could meet up and head down together.

 

from south orlando to east tampa is about an hour...we should shoot for like 8pm dinner so we can slip by after rush hour

epi, i dunno if I told you this already, but it just came to mind : if you ever want your windows tinted legal or illegal, whatever % you want, the guy that did mine does it for 120, i priced differt places and that seemed pretty good. just FYI

This will be a fun meet, looking forward to it.

Look at the place they have a beer sample menu, including one beer sampler with 34 1/4 pint samples of beer on it, sounds interesting.

 

Sounds ok to me. You may want to think about having it at a different time, traffic around there @ Friday rush hour SUCKS. Let me know what the final verdict is. Thanks !

Nov 4 is good here too. Just another suggestion for restaurants - what about Quaker Steak and Lube? Cool automotive-themed place that's very open to car shows. If you guys don't feel like switching up plans, I'm down the meeting at the other place. Just throwing it out there. :D

Meeting on Idrive is fine with me, There is a chevron right near the freeway on/off ramp, we could meet there, gas up if needed, grab soda/snacks whatever and head out.

We still got a month to plan this, but Im just throwing that out there.

The Miatas' meet on Wed at that Sonics, so they won't be at Barley Hoppers on Friday. Do you want me to send an invite out to their club or keep it 8s?

I figured BH would be a good place because the Orlando people won't have to go through malfunction junction. Sorry Sarasota driver, may want to take the Crosstown over and exit 13 towards Riverview. Then left on Bloomingdale. Its at the intersection of Bloomingdale and Providence (by the Publix).

You guys pick the time, since I am the rookie here. I am driving from Clearwater, so I wont be there before 6:30ish.

Of course, the last RX-8 meet I attended took 14 hours to drive to, but it was at the Tail of the Dragon, so it was WORTH IT!
