Ok so i have a 04 8 with 11K. I notice on my driverside door and some other areas that the paint is dulling and feels like no clear coat was applied. has anyone else ahd this and what can be done about it, and is it covered under warranty?

The paint on the 8 uses 3 different colors of paint. After the primer they spray a gray, then a red, and last a clear. If your car didn't have a clear you'd know the day you bought it because the red paint under the clear has no gloss whatsoever. Paint is mostly not covered under the warranty.

 

thanks for telling me that i do know what a clear coat is o_o, that is why i said it "feels" like as is not smooth buffed polished ect..... I believe chiping and such is not covered, but a defect? This is not normal wear, the car doesnt sit in the sun hasnt been repainted there ect. But i will let you all know what mazda says.

 

JB has that same problem with his rear bumper dude. it's a defect, but i doubt your dealership will cover it. most likely they'll blame you for it. i'd mention is to the sales manager and service manager. if they decline, you might have to take it to the body shop
