I am getting a radio frequency transmitter for my IPOD to listen in my '8...can anyone recommend a good channel to use in Toronto?

Hmm before I moved to back to Calgary, I had an Ipod transmitter that I used in my friend's car. We found that in between 87.5 and 89.9 worked the best. I figure that CIUT and CKLN (both university stations) don't have as much transmitting power as the larger stations ... so there is less interference. Don't even think of going around Jack Fm or Mix 99.9, etc because all those stations are very close together and have high powered antennae stations. Good luck.

Oh make sure you get one of those transmitters that you can change the frequency and not just pre-determined ones.

 

I will try that, I am getting an Ipod for my Bday coming up...and I was going to ger the Monster Itrip Plus which can chnage to different channels.

 

I'm in the same boat, its tough to find a free channel for my XM radio.

It varies depending on where you travel around the GTA. Seems to ge really bad by the airport.

 

I drive in Toronto daily, and find using 104.9 is the best for me. Having said this, when you are "Downtown", ie. Front & Bay area, I find the iTrip is damn near impossible to use.

BrilliantBlackEight: I work near the airport, and the 104.9 channel works fine.

Having said all of this, I dislike the iTrip immensely being an audiophile at heart. There's always a hiss at the best of times, and the sound is spongy and can't be blasted too lound without lots of distortion.

I'm looking for alternatives.

 

Oh, also worth noting, if I keep the iPod in the front seat, the interference is bad. I place the iPod in one of the rear cup holders, leaning towards the back of the vehicle, and get no interference in this position.

 

Hmm, good to know. I will try it out tomorrow. I'm not sure if my Roady2 has that FM preset available or not, but I will give it a try. Once I have more time I'm going to do something proper like a direct line in.
