Audio/Carputer Sub Forum

How about two sub-forums in the interior/electronics forum for carputers and car audio?

yes and no...there isn't much action in the interior/electronics forum...so good idea...not horribly useful in our present situation

if we are going to divide it up lets think of the best way to approach this

should we split them up into sub forums...or...make them their own forums

like

interior

and

electronics

that way you'd seperate the electronics from the exterior forum

I think that a single electronics forum is way to broad.

I think there are plenty of carpc forums out there already. Since the 8 is like every other car as far as setup goes I think it would be pointless. This is coming from someone who has a carpc. Just my opinion.

Can we get a mod to give chime in here. I get a PM every other day from people with questions about car computers.

Well, I don't really like sifting through random iPod and subwoofers to get to the NAV. Half of the posts are about the NAV or custom carputer.

However, there isn't a whole lot of activity in general in that sub-forum after I took a second look. I suppose a search would do what I want.

Is it really hard to make another sub-forum? If it is not super expensive or time consuming then it would be worth it.

So is that it? No comments or anything from mods? Whats the point of this sub-forum if none of the mods listen?

Well then say that. How are we suppose to know what you are thinking? If you want the suggestion forum to work you need to give feed back.

I dont mind accepting that this may not be a great idea, but at least tell me so.

Sounds like a good enough idea since it would make keeping relevant threaded discussions "at the top" and make it easier to search. Although I am not sure audio needs to be part of it. Seperating "stereo" and "carpc" areas since the carpc only connects to the factory (or modded) stereo system.

I don't see nearly enough carputer threads to justify making an entire section devoted to just it. People had asked for a separate subforum to be devoted to UOA's (used oil analysis) in the tech section too but there is only 1 thread about them. At this time it is not an idea that we will entertain. In the future if the number of threads increases to the point that they dominate the audio forum, we may entertain the idea. This assumes that many of them aren't repetitive and can't be combined into fewer threads so please don't go starting tons of threads on the subject to make it look like there are more than there really are.

lol, whatever.

I honestly think that if the mods don't want it to happen, it's not going to happen, reguardless of what the members want.
