Hey Calgarians, I'm no good at organizing things, but I figure a nice fall get-together would be nice before we're stuck in the snow again! How does meeting at Bowness park, taking a few pics and finally heading out for a cruise around the city sound? Let's aim for the last week of Sept. I hope 1 month is enough to notify people and plan for those who store their car for winter.

Sunday is a better day for me. I picked the 25th but Oct 2 is just as good.

 

Just a note. High River is having their Car show on Sept 25, Expecting a few hundred cars. so if you like all kinds of motors... that's the place to go.

25th isn't great for me, rather see this once a year gathering and choose another day....

 

I coulnd't care less either day is good, but I voted for Saturday because I prefer to do stuff like drives that day. Sunday is usually getting ready for work day

 

I have been notified all year of the the ride and I have always missed it.
The last weekend in Sept is baddddd for me I hope we can make it for the first weekend in Oct :D :D

 

What about a trip down the TC and up HWY 40 to Kananaskis instead of a crusie around the city?

 

I'm up for anything. I guess we'll let the majority decide. Maybe a poll or a few suggestions? We went up to Elbow Falls last time... but I think a trip on the TC would be much safer! :o

Sounds like a bunch of the RX7 guys and Mazda 3 guys are meeting at Genmore Park on the 17th......maybe some 8's should crash the party?

Uh, if it's a choice between South Glenmore Park and a boobie bar... I'd vote for the boobie bar! Who would pick that spot for a meeting, anyway? It's more than a bit too notorious for my liking. There's NO way I'd be seen hanging out there!

 

Those RX-7 and Mazda 3 guys seem to have a lot of meetings together! But anyway, I'm at a wedding that day. But Gord, you comin out with the following weekend? I hope its nice out.

This wouldn't be too bad to drive down to. And there is the River City Classique Car Show on that day. It's hosted by the Vintage Sports Car Club of Calgary. I'm not sure about the cars that will be there, but here's a list of the club cars: http://www.vsccc.ca/cars.htm I'm up for anything. If this looks like somewhere we can go, let me know! If we meet at Bowness or COP, we can travel through the city and get some highway in there as well.

I'm a definite maybe. The wife and I may be going out to celebrate our anniversary that day. The RX8 is fun to take for a spin but so is my wife. :D

Ok, the reply for confirmation isn't overwhelming and its Thurs. C'mon guys!! Don't let these Calgary meet be like the Edmonton meets (where nobody goes)! So far it seems like people are leaning more towards Oct. 2. I'll post a decision tomorrow as to whether its postponed for next week.
