Question "Touring" Road America

Has anyone done the "Touring" session at Road America? How does it work? I understand there may be as many as 200 cars on the track at the same time! That sounds like it could get a bit crazy. How do they control it?

they have some pace cars out there and they can black flag you if they deem you unsafe

Have you ever done this? It sounds like a great idea, but could go either way. Everyone could be very conscious of others around them and there is no dangerous passing, tailgaiting, etc. OR, you have the idiot in his '71 Mach I (oops, did I say that) trying to show off and all of a sudden he is slamming into your rear end or shoving you off the track in a corner before you know it! Just what I need for my new baby.

I'd love to go out there and do it, but I dont want to be put in a really unsafe situation.

You know what I mean?

I did it last year, but after doing actual track driving it lost a lot of its appeal. Plus there are a lot of asshats that use the track to show off how badass they are.

I guess it's the "asshats" I'm worried about. I've never done this before, but it sounds great. I surely understand those that have progressed beyond this event, but I'm still here with my first event. So, I guess I'm looking for some advice on how to have fun in the "touring " event, but still be able to avoid the "nuts" out there!

look out for people who have no idea what is going on, they will be very easy to identify. same with the asshats who thing they are M. Schumacher or F. Alonso. Just keep the racing line and dont lift in the carousel. The kink can be taken at WOT if you are comfortable, but for a first time person I dont reccomend taking teh kink at those speeds.
