RX-8 not currently available

I work at a local mazda dealership. Yeserday mazda had all dealers remove the 8's from the lots. Apparently they are having fuel line issues causing subsequent fires and don't yet know what to do. A recall is certain, but we're waiting on the engineers. Untill that time no 8's are to be sold.

I sense the sarcasm. call your local mazda dealer and ask if can CONTRACT on an 8 today, not can you buy one. The sales rep. will tell you all is well hoping for a quick decision from mazda. But there is not a dealer out there who can deliver a new one today.

ztitans can you say what dealer you work for? are you in sales or service?

welcome aboard. always glad to have dealer personnel on board. several have been very helpful to the community from time to time.
the information you have brought to us today was actually sent to dealers on Friday July 8th and posted here on Saturday July 9th. They do know what to do about the issue and your service department has instructions to follow for the cars on the lot. If they follow those instructions most of your 2005 MY cars can be back out for sale in a couple of days.. No need to wait on the engineers as they have already announced the recall and it will start in august with the mailing of the official letters to the registered owners.

You may also start to hear about a second recall which is about to be announced. It has to do with ball joints on the lower a arms. That was posted on here Monday. Your service and parts department have already received instructions to immediately send back any of the effected parts they have in stock.

If YOU have any questions on these 2 issues check the Issues and Problems sections for the 2 ongoing threads about them. Lots of information there as well as some panic and speculation.

If you cant say the name of the dealership could you give us a city at least. Or tell us if your dealership has replaced any engines in AT RX-8s?

Thanks
Charlie

As i said that is not true- you can read the threads for futhur info but ill tell you this. Many dealerships in the US have already done the required work on most if not all the Group 2 2005 inventory cars and are quite able to deliver them today.

Actually, RX-8's are moving off the lots. One's made in 2004 aren't, but some 05's have already been repaired. Thank's for the inside info though. Do you have any info on what to expect with regards to changes for the 2006 RX-8?
