My RX-8's In A Commercial
Saturday, July 23, 2005 my 8 will be included in a national commercial for a major provider of fuel/energy. I don't think I'm allowed to say who exactly the client is until it airs 
. Just think major international company that sells fuel to.. well every big company in the US. I'm not sure yet, but I might be in the shoot too *eek* lol.
It will be shot at a Diamond Shamerock gas station in San Antonio, TX.
I kinda think it's ironic they want my gas-guzzling 8 in a commercial for a gas providing company. :P
It's being shot by a full-service production company called Laszlo Rain (a company I work a lot with, since I do web development for them).
I'll keep everyone updated and post a link to a copy of the commercial when its done.

Hopefully as you're driving up the lower control arm dosent give way spiraling you out of control into the fuel pumps, in which the heat from the engine ignights the fuel and destroys the entire station.

And I will post pics. I'm told the commercial will air first in about August, but I'll get a 320x240 *.mov copy of the commercial before it airs (which I'll post).

YEA! Looking forward to the commercial. Will we see the red/black interior or will it be more of a distant shot?

My car's Titanium Grey, and the Red/Black probably won't get in the shot(s).
As I said, I work for Laszlo Rain doing web development, and I happened to be sitting in the kitchen while the director and a production manager (I believe) were discussing the shoot. They looked up at me and were like "Hey, can we borrow your car for saturday? We'll pay $50 for a couple hours."
I responded with "$50 for 10 minutes."
And they responded "How about 30?" And we all just kinda laughed and they left.
I sat there for a while working, and then I started to wonder if they really wanted my car or were just joking. So I went and asked, and sure enough, they were 100% serious.
I'll be putting on strakes this morning before the shoot so I can try and have it stand out *a little.*
I did make it into the "9-car-rotation" of cars that will be used over and over again throughout the shoot (as opposed to being in one shot and leaving). The director (Tom Nador) told me he'd get me in a good shot.
I'm off to clean my car and put on those strakes (thanks Howard!).
If any more RX-8s wanna drop by, its at Foster Rd. and I-10 (@ Diamond Shamrock) from 5pm-12pm.
Talk to ya'll after the shoot!
