just curious, what does the bs stand for.I not track & field literate.

 

BS= B Stock

It is the SCCA (Sports Car Club of America) class for a lightly modified RX-8. Other cars in B Stock would be things like
BMW E36 M3s
BMW 330 with ZHP
Mazdaspeed Miata
Jaguar E Type
350Z
Toyota MR2 Turbo


SCCA stock classes allow a few mods, for example:
R compound tires
any shock that uses the same mounting position
exhaust from the cat back
any air filter material using the stock box
front sway bar

 

that looks like a lot of fun...I would love to be able to do that but Im not sure that we have anything like that around the philly area.....

That looks like Lake Geneva Speedway. It's been a long time since i've been there.

It's been a great car to autocross although I might retire it for a bit and save it for the big track. I have a BMW lease car that I also like to autocross and since it is a lease car, I can really beat on it.

Unfortunately, my insurance has added a exclusion that excludes coverage for autocross and I have to get the insurance thing sorted before i go back out.

Thanks, I did pretty well and received a trophy for second place in B Stock which was combined with C stock. We only had four people in the combined class but my time was quite respectable. We had 8 runs and I improved my runs throughout the day and I felt like I didn't leave too many seconds out on the course. Some more info on the event here:
