I have read up on lightened flywheels, and I understand the weight differences, how much it would cost, the slight acceleration improvements, etc...

But what I wanted to get a feel for was whether the car rev faster when the car is in neutral? Does the car sound different becase of this. In other words, is there any outward effects that allow somebody who knows RX-8s well to say: Hey, do you have a lightened flywheel in there?

I was just hoping that you get a little more for $1000 spent on an installed flywheel.
