Anyone here with the Red with custom plates driving by tonight? I waved back in Silver...

Also saw about 4 RX-8s today in the Alhambra area... not one of them waved back. One of the guys drove a Black RX-8, new car, looked like a snooty spoiled kid thinking he was cool or something. Guess he was upset my Silver was on the same road as him...

The other 3 were Titanium greys... but the owners looked like they were the 40 something age group and had no clue what the heck a Rotary is... so they simply gave me a "Mentols" confused look.

 

I pretty much gave up on trying to wave at other RX8 owners. I'm tired of feeling all stupid after I try to wave at them and they look at me like im some kind of idiot. I've been driving around that area for 3 days now around that time but I dont have a custom plate.

I usually wave when I notice the person has "some" sort of modified something... or something that lets me know they know about Rotary. It's kinda hard for a RX- person to not know that I am a Rotary Enthusiast... My plate is "Rotary X".

The people that usually wave back now are the old school RX-2s, 7s, etc etc... The new school people bought the car for just the sake of the car, and wouldn't care about Rotary in general... or they have no clue about this place or the RX7club.

 

i believe that was me in the red rx-8. my plate says FL8IR. so hi. =] i was on my way to/from long beach... don't really remember.

 

haha i'd wave back if i lived around there. i used to wave at most 8s but yea most of them gimme that wtf look. but the old school rotary crowd always gives love. although fds arent exactly old school.

I'm in the "40something" age group, and I for sure know what a rotary is......... :D

I've had my 8 in and around the El Monte/605/210 Fwy area all week. It's going home and I'll be back in my Co car for daily driving starting Monday.

If you see me - I'll already be waving at you!

(But, I know what you mean about lots of RX8 owners not acknowledging other 8 owners. Have had it happen many times).

 

I still wave at fellow 8 people. if they dont want to wave back thats fine, but at least i tried. :D

 

I live in fullerton, usually drive up and down beach blvd or the 5.... i'll wave if u wave

 

Today 7-17-05==== >>> 2 Greys, 1 Black, 1 Blue, 2 Silvers, and 1 with a replica MS Silver kit... None waved.

Out of those, 3 of them were modded in some way or another... clear coners, or rims. Yet none of them knew of the wave or acknowledged something. Heck, a Porsche Carrera owner acknowledged me and asked me what I was driving, said it was a Mazda RX-8... he said, "Rotary right, like the RX-7?" I nodded, light changed, drove past the street, even though it was love from another Rotary owner, it still Brought a smile to my face.

 

you sure you wave in a nice attitude? you must in a good mood since you didn't flip them off and you actually waved. which is very nice of you.

 

i get props from oldskool FD and FC guys all the time..its like a secret society or something...haha i feel the love. But for some odd reason the only 8 owners that i get props from are from girls..haha

 

You really want to start something again? Wait until you pay for your own car, and stop working at a convenience store before you start rambling on again. You always try to start something with me since I gave you the advice that sitting on your *** is not going to get you a sponsorship. If you didn't realize that, then that's too bad.
