Oak Tree Mazda overfilled oil
Oak Tree Mazda overfilled oil
Be warned, Oak Tree Mazda in San Jose overfilled my oil today. I had to pump some out to bring it "down" to full. I wish dealers would take the time to do this simple operation correctly. It makes me wonder what other things they are doing wrong.
I feel you at Oaktree Mazda
Yeah, Oaktree service isn't all too great. They have good guys at the front though. When I had got my RX8 in summer of '03, the guys at the front were always letting me know the car was delayed; I didn't have to ping them all the time.
Service is a different story. I think the times I did bring my RX8 there, it was ALWAYS shiny and I brought my car in only on sunny days. So, I did morning drop offs for a late afternoon pick up. I noticed that everytime I got my car back, it was very dirty when I got it back. I think the worst time was the person tracked in mud onto the door sill and kicked the speaker w/ their boot leaving a light scratch.
Recently I got an Mspeed MX5. I looked over the car before I bought it. I left it for so they can prep the car. I got a free detail since I am a returning customer. NOT only was the car not even washed, they didn't even take off the string dealerships attach to the mirror. On top of that there was a BIG scratch on the hood when they tried to let me drive it off the lot. As a "favor", one of the guys there offered to buff out that scratch (which took another day, I took a cab home). When I get back, the car is still dirty and you can still see the damn scratch.
I've told myself, prior to this post that I will not ever take my car there for servicing. But to purchase a vehicle, they're pretty good.

Exactly!! Where else should we take our cars? The guys on Capitol Express are AWEFUL!!!! and I thought on taking my car to Oak Tree but I guess they are as bad...
Need to plan for a reflash, film on the headlights, sunroof rattles and a 45K maintenance...
ANy suggestions?

I've had mostly good service at both Oak Tree and Almaden Mazda. They are both owned by the Del Grande family. It seems to me that which service advisor and mechanic you get on a particular day is more important than which dealership you go to. It's like when you go to a restaurant - it depends on which chef cooks your food, and how he feels that day. At Almaden, my favorite service advisor is Tony.
Capitol expressway folks were great with me. I kind of miss there quick service. They had a great advisor there once forgot his name. I use the one in Oakland now, and am pleased so far. Just stay away from fremont's service dpt.
I never had issues with Oak Tree. I always go there. I guess there was one time that they washed my car after I had Zaino on it without me knowing that they would wash it. Luckily they didn't strip out the Zaino layer.
Of all Mazda dealerships I've visited, Oak Tree would be the most professional of them. Capitol and Oak Tree are of the same ownership I think.
