Moonroof dumped water all over me! Doh!

Well I wasn't thinking this morning when I opened my moonroof. All the water that was sitting on it just rolled down onto my head and all over my seats and center console... This is the first time something like this has happened to me. I usually have it parked in the garage, but we just got our driveway sealed so it was in the street. We had a pretty heavy thunderstorm yesterday evening, so there was quite a bit of water beaded up on the roof (thanks to NXT wax). Has this happened to anyone else?

LOL.. my friend did that same thing the other day.. it rained and there was still water on the roof, so he opened it up and it came all into the car, kinda annoyed me but accidents happen.. fortunatley the water went into the cup holders and onto the occupant

Somehow I don't think this is the kind of thing people readily admit to doing!

Haha! :D I was hoping to feel better after dozens of people admit to having done the same thing! Guess that won't happen .

Is it OK to laugh at you...LOL!!!!

I can just picture it...and soon after I realize that I could have done the same thing, easy!

At least it's just water but that must have been a major WAKE UP...the water was probably cold too, LOL!!!!

Glad it did not happen while driving fast or something...

I think as soon as you start driving even moderately fast the water will roll off....but yeah i did that too, rained earlier in the day, but was then beautiful out, and I never saw it coming....

No, of course not. That's never happened to me. Also be a bit cautious that a hard rain (or even immediately after a wash) may leave enough water in the seams to drip a bit when you open the roof. There are MF towels tucked under my driver seat.

done that before. hit the windshield washers with it open once, while doing about 40mph, also.

I did that one time...

It had rained during the day...I left work, and it was nice out...thought to myself...time to open the windows and open the moon roof. *SPLASH* covered in water...oh well...live and learn.

that's one reason why I opted for one without a moonroof. I'd had enough showers in my bug with a sunroof... which especially sucked as the whole roof would fill with water and even if it was shut.. first good stop and about 10 gallons would drown you.

Oh wow... I never even though of a possibility of that.. My old car had the moonroof that goes into the roof, so water stayed retained on top of the moonroof....
Eh, guess I never have to worry about that though.
