Check the mailbu thread....believe me, you will come back every month to do it again. I've posted a lot of pics. It is unbeleivable. I drive 70 plus miles one way to get there...its well worth it.

I went on a cruise with the socal RX guys in Torrance this last weekend. We cruised through Palos Verdes and then up the coast. Was nice.

No tracks in the OC... If you want to autoX you can hit San Diego, Qualcomm, or California Speedway. For open track Button Willow, the streets or California Speedway.
Not my thing, I race at the track, but I have heard the Ortega Hwy in San Juan is a fun drive.

Thanks guys. I live in Laguna Beach. Just want to be able to drive the car like it should be driven without getting arrested. What is in San Diego that I can autocross at?

Closest real track to you would probably be Streets of Willow/Willowsprings. It is about an hour north of LA. IN SD they will have autocross events in the parking lot of Qualcomm sometimes.

Yeah California Speedway is closer, but honestly I've never gone there. The only events that I have seen there were the Porsche & Ferrari clubs. I've gone to a few events at Streets of Willow/Willowspring, & Mazfest was recently at Buttonwillow (drove there before with another club). Do know much on whether they would let a single person on the track, or if you have to be in a club that books this track.

No a single person can go on the track as long as there is an opening.

Usually there is.

I ran the Ortega hwy today, from the I-5 side to the15. The first half is lame, all 50mph turns and only a few at that. The second half of the 22 mile road is ok, 30mph turns, so you can have some fun. There is a lot of traffic on this road, but the surface is nice and you get a great view comming down the hill looking at the lake.

This is a double fine zone.

And they will have no problem towing your car away.

Many deaths on this road. A biker friend of mine died on that highway cause he thought he was hot ****.

Keep the 74 for touring. Like you said too much traffic.
