I was looking at the rear of my car today and the rear wheels dont look straight.they seem to go into the fender on the top . i change my coilovers and had the car aligned is this normal ???

 

It seems to be normal. Mine is like that and I have seen others like that also. I'm going to lower the car but not sure if it will be worse.

 

It's called negative camber and is normal on both ends of the RX-8. The factory settings have more rear negative camber so it is more noticable then the front.

You could, but if you care about handling at all you won't. Negative camber is not a bad thing folks. Static negative camber turns into a nice vertical tire with a nice flat contact patch when that wheel is loaded in a turn. And camber (at least the amount you can get with a stock 8) is not going to affect tire wear noticably...excessive toe will, but not a little negative camber.

 

Please be sure to max your negative camber in the rear by next Satruday.

I should have also mentioned above that negative camber on the drive wheels can hurt forward bite if you go too far...and how much you might want in one end could depend on what's available at the other end (the RX-8 is rather limited in the front). The kind of suspension you're dealing with matters too...some designs have different changes in camber over the range of travel than others.

I've got -1 degree (give or take a tenth) all the way around...what do you have in your car, Clyde?

the camber curve in the front of the RX8 appears to be pretty good for a stock car. Having a little more static up front would be nice to get the insides working a little harder, but

More than that all around. :p Think I want to take some out of the rear, though...dunno. Haven't taken measurements in quite some time either...so I really don't know what we've been running so far this year.
