My first tank after installing my RB mods gave me 251 MPG !!!!! :D :D :D

highway? city? both?

 

well since i've had both of mine it..i went from averaging 15.3 mpg (mostly city like 80/20)..to 17.3 mpg (80/20 city / highway) that is over a few months (since i've had both)..had the exhaust for a while.

 

both... I get on the Turnpike for about five miles of my 13 mile to drive to work every day... so I guess both, but other than that is city driving....

I was getting 215MPG tops before this....

How big is our tank again? I wanna figure the MPG....

some how i'm skeptical. that means you're getting aobut 3263 miles per fill up? wow, i only get like 250 miles max!

the tank is 15.9 gallons large, BUT the light goes on around 13 gallons. the best way to determine your true mpg is by taking the miles on your odometer and dividing by the amount or gas you put in your car on the next fill up.

dividing by 15.9 is only accurate if you start on a full tank and drain it completely dry.

 

the tank is 13.9 gallons.

 

drive however much you want. fillup.

divide gallons it takes to fill tank by the number of miles driven.

thats how you calculate your MPG, not the size of the tank...unless you drive it completely out of gas each and every time.

oh, and you aren't gettings 200+ mpg...you are gettings 200+ miles per tank. if we were getting 200+ mpg, no one would be bitching about fuel economy on the car

251 MPG with a Intake and Exhaust, now that's an upgrade... :D

 

Seriously, have you all noticed improvement in mileage with the RB intake? Or is it just when using both the intake and the RB exhaust? I've been looking at the RB exhaust as my first choice, but I haven't really considered any intake changes. (2-3 hp isn't worth the trouble and noise to me.) I would consider doing both if there's a noticeable improvement in mileage, too.

 

No, the tank is 15.9 gallons...not 13.9...

Thanks for sharing, if the RB instake helps fuel economy that is yet ANOTHER reason to get it.

 

jaedcem I installed them both at the same time so I really couldn't say... but combined they definitely make a difference. I don't know which is doing more or what or if it is a combination of both but there is definitely a difference.... I have notice a slight increase in HP, especially at the top end, You definitely feel a difference at 6k rmp and up....

I'm no car expert so here is why I say this and you guys can correct me if I'm wrong:

On my way to work I get on the Turnpike South on 8th ST (for those familiar with SFL) when you get on this ramp is starts with a "S" curve and then a long straightaway until you merge with the Turnpike. There are a series a light posts along and there is one before the merge lane that I use for reference as to when to let go of the gas and let the car slow down in order for me to merge onto the expressway.

Before the mods the most I ever hit was 105MPH and it did it constantly with no problem as I have done on many occasions when I have no cars in front of me... I will take 2nd to 8k and 3rd to 8k and then fourth until the light post which I was at around 105.

After the mods driving it just the same I have to take into 5th and I hit 115 at the same light post. I have done it about 4 times since I installed the Intake and Exhaust and I got from 113-117. What do you guys think?

 

I think you're lucky you don't have a bunch of speeding tickets. The drivers in FL are bad enough without having do watch for people flying up your butt on the freeway. If you want to get some valid test results, either take it to a drag strip or to a dyno....not public roads.

 

well i posted abotu my gas milage up there somewhere..adn it only changed when i added teh intake...with the exhaust only (for abotu 15k miles).....it was teh same as befor i had it...but the intake helps a lill.


but driving style would help the most :p

 

a tank is not an accurate measure. how many miles per gallon did you get?

 

I'm gona measure up with this tank I'm on, I'll post results...

I think I'm going to have you beat. I'm waiting for my tank of gas to finish. I have a little over a 1/4 of a tank left and I have 215 Miles out of it already. We'll see what happens!

 

I'm at 250 now and still at a 1/4. I'll Post a pic when I go for a fill up.

 

hmm you got me... I'm not doing too good on this tank, I've driving harder then I usually do.

 

Actually, I noticed that mileage and oil use improved right after my 10,000 mile oil change. My driving habits and commute did not change. I use the car for business, so I have good written records on milage and gas/oil purchases. For a year I was getting 15.5 MPG, now I'm getting about 17+.

Also, I was putting 1/2 quart of oil in every 500 miles like clock work. After the oil change it is now 1/2 quart every 1500. This wasn't the first oil change, so I'm wondering if they did something to the computer? Or the seals just decided to work better all of a sudden?

Not complaining, just confused.
