Shopping for my new 8!

Okay, okay... so you guys were right. The 8 IS the car to have. I've done my research, and have come to a conclusion: The Mazda RX-8 does it all and looks good doing it.

It gives me speed, without the harsh vibration and noise from other cars I've considered. It's luxurious, without being too "old man." It's youthful, without looking too teenie-bopper.

I love how you sit in the 8 compared to the upright seated position in the Evo. I like the backseat feature you don't get from the Z or S2K. The Z is also a little too common, and the S2000 is too much like my Spyder. I want something new.

I'm probably getting a silver 2005 with black leather and navigation. i don't want the spoiler or the underbody stuff, but I do want those little fins for the vents behind the front wheels.

Thanks for having a great board. I'll post pictures when I get 35% tint all around.

Well, you made the right choice!

As far as the fender strakes are concerned, check out this related thread:

Remember to post some pics as soon as you get it...

Huh? I thought you were the guy who went and bought the Evo... maybe I'm thinking of someone else.

I was about 99% ready to get the Evo...

Who cares if it's slower, the RX just feels better. Can't describe it.

Might have something to do with the fact that it's not based on a nose-heavy $15,000 econobox. Cars with purpose-built platforms don't get much less expensive than the RX-8.
