question about painting interior

Hey all. I just bought the G2 interior carstyling paint and applied it on the steering wheel, the shift ****, and E-brake and it came out real nice as if I bought the car with the 2 tone interior. After it settles in, you can scratch it off all you want and it still won't come off, just like the product said.. Now, I want to do the same to the door panels and maybe even my cloth seats.. Has anyone done that yet or do you know if it's a good idea? The paint i bought was meant for vinyl and hard plastic but along w/ the primer, it pretty much binds to anything. Please give me insight. THanks

The fabric? Unless that product is a dye that the fabric can absorb, paint would not work well. The synthetic fabrics used in autos typically do not absorb very well.

Try to find a really obscure location to test. It could also make the fabric really hard if it doesn't react properly on fabric.

Do a search on member "Whealy" or send him a PM - he's done a lot of interior coloring.

It looks good-do you have any close ups? It looks much much better than I would have imagined. Good job.

Now let's no go dissing my wife! For someone that's been though as many cars as I have and still be married to wonderful woman that really doesn't share my heightened interest in them, she sure puts up a lot.

Just to be straight on the issue, the 8 was not one of her favorite cars. But ultimatly, I keep one vehicle to myself. So the decision was mine.

While I do apprecaite the props on my previous 8, I did have something else in mind to drive this summer. Pics below. Sorry for hijacking VmanX. But a man has to defend his wife. And obviously I do check in from time to time.

BTW - I have been sharing the knowledge I gained with VmanX on this dye stuff. But he started doing this before we ever spoke. So looks like he has a good handle on what he's doing.
