Today driving from work I watched the odometer turn from triple 9s to 1000, and I smiled, break-in over. Later tonight I took the 8 for a spin out on the country roads behind my neighborhood.

In third gear I mashed the gas pedal and watched the rpms rise. Around 6000 there was a sudden burst of acceleration, sweet. I kept going, I wanted to hear the buzzer. At around 8500 I hear the faint buzzer and back off the gas. Yeah its not very loud, I doubt if you could hear it with the radio on.

I did a couple of runs like this, which didn't wipe the smiles off my face. Although, I had to watch my speed, not because of the local authorities, but the local deer population!

I very glad I bought this car, I was looking at the 350z, G35s and Mustangs. Hey you can have those cars, I don't care if they are faster than the 8. Sometimes its the way you build up speed that counts not the measurement of time. I would compare those cars to a charging rhino where the 8 is a sprinting gazelle, light and nimble.
