Rotary Extreme MS Style Side Skirts and Paint!

Alright, it has been two months since getting my RX-8 and I have done the following so far...

Tein S-Tech Springs
Clear Corners
Side Strakes
Window Tinting
Billet Grille
"Custom" Rotary Accents

I'm trying to price out my next mod. It is either exhaust or getting a kit. I know the exhaust will likely be the cheaper route of the two, but I'd still like to price out the kit I want. What I am looking to do is get the OEM air dam and rear aero's and then getting the Mazdaspeed side skirts.

I thought to myself that I see the replica Urethane kits and all, and I was just wondering, I really doubt there'd be much hassel for the side skirts to not fit right like some have had the problem with their front and rear bumper having gaps. So I looked at Rotary Extreme and they sell the skirts for $450, about how much do you think it would cost to paint/install the skirts from a body shop?

Front Air Dam - $361
Rear Aero Flare - $210
MazdaSpeed Side Skirt / MS Style Side Skirt - $699 + shipping and installation / $450 + paint and installation

Compared to probably the Greddy exhaust which is $475 + shipping, self install.

If you don't have much money, I'd personally go for the exhaust. Instant gratification.

If you do have money, I personally (again) wouldn't skip on the kit. If you're going for MS, do it all the way. Yes, the skirts look good w/the front air dam and rear aero flares, but the MS front (replica or real) is hot, as is the entire kit and you'll wish afterwards that you would have just gotten the kit. For what you're willing to pay, you could get the entire MS replica kit and get it painted and installed.

Hardhitter it's cheaper to get the real side skirts than the urethane since you said $699 + $450 painting installation. That's $1150, $1150 you can buy the whole polyurethane mS kit from Rotary Extreme. They sold it to me for $1100(listed $1300 for the whole kit) & about $125 for shipping from the trunking company. The real MS side skirts you can get for about $850 & get somebody to installed it for about $100 bucks= less $1000.

PS: it shouldn't cost $450 to paint & install the side skirts because it's really easy to paint & install! If it's $450 to paint the front bumper & install it then it makes sense.

No no no, the slashes were prices for the two different side skirts

The MS Style Side Skirts (Replica of the Mazdaspeed side skirts) is $450 from Rotary Extreme + whatever the cost of paint/installation is going to be

The real MazdaSpeed Side Skirts is $699 + installation. It won't need to be painted since the real kit comes already painted.

That's why I'm trying to find out how much paint/installation would be so I could see how much more cheaper it would be compared to the real mazdaspeed side skirts.

Oops I got ya :o :D but I think the real one is still cheaper overall! Urethane $450 + shipping + paint + installation+ the wait for shipment. I think you should get the side skirts 1st then the exhaust in my opinion.

No I am local, so I'd pickup the Side skirt from Rotary Extreme, they have one pair left in stock last time I checked. Paint and installation couldn't be more than $250 could it? So $700 total for the replica painted/installed for the urethane side skirts vs the real side skirts that are $699+shipping+installation. So the real one comes out to be probably about $200 more than the replica cause shipping will probably be around $100ish and installation probably around $100ish.

How much did your body shop charge you to install/paint the kits? Where did you purchase your kit from? Cause there are some Urethane MS Kits going for $800-$900 on ebay.

I think the shop paid $400-$500 each for the front & sides. I'm not sure how much it was to paint. Insurance is paying for it since I wrecked.

Hey~ dude! I live the local area in santa clara too. I was just wondering where you got your springs installed and how much? I Just got my new RX8 and looking to mod my ride but need to find good shop for installation. Also i would rather get the MazdaSpeed side skirt and pay $699 but its just my thought.

Got my springs installed for $120 at extreme imports off of almaden expressway. It was a special deal though, so I don't know how much they will charge you regularly.
