Congrats! I really like the 3's. My wife has a 99 Protege and it's been a great car. The 3 is a major improvement. How do you like it so far?

Supringly, it's a lot of fun to drive It's pretty peppy for a 4banger, shifts well and above all, it's really comfy. It handles quite well given its size... I actually had induced oversteer (I was being a little overagressive :D ), but controlled the car pretty easily. I usually get a little ancy with the rear end wagging, but I didn't flinch, and that says a lot I have come to feel that comfortable in the RX-8 now, but the Mazda3 is a great baby brother for that, and given that I get 26mpg (average, with my driving), it's a welcome change as well!

I autocrossed a couple of them last year, and was pretty impressed... very nimble for FWD. They did have an aftermarket suspension, but still... you could tell it was a good handler from the get-go.

The 3 is really nice, I like the 4 door better, but I really love the interior!

Congrats!
