Arrow ******Rotors & Headlights******

Took my car in this morning because of the noise the brakes make when I stop. (Damn its annoying) Well, had Mazda check them out and their going to resurface the Rotors and replace the pads. I'm going back in around 1:30pm to have it done.

While I was there I had them check out the grease film that seems to appear on the headlights, which I know a lot of people have complained about. Their going to replace both of headlights as well.

Everything is getting done under warranty. I then went back to the parts section and asked them how much the headlights cost. He told me $1000 a piece. I was like DAMN. I didn't know they were that much!

Anyway's I'll update when everything is complete.

I just had the same things done with my 8, I noticed a big difference with the new brake pads and they seem to not have as much black dust (it has only been a few days). I take mine in next week to replace the headlights since they had to order them. They did say if the new ones have the greasy film they will take a set off of a new car on the lot. Good luck let us know how it goes.

I just had the headlights done and I asked the dealer the same question. I got a slightly different answer though. He told me that they cost $400/piece.

I saw in another thread where the owner was told they cost $800.00.

I'm going Monday to complain about my film.

I know when the dealer replaced mine, it showed the cost on the work order and they were almost $900. I'm sure the cost depends on whether you have xenons or not. Hence the $400 price if you don't have them.

He did tell me that too. But he said there was two prices. One was 4 Hundred and some dollars and the other was 1000. I'm guess the higher one is the Xenon lights. Because I know the stock lights have to cost less than the Xenon's.

I would. Fact is, the film on the headlights are not suppose to be there and just tell them that could effect your headlight vision in the future.

I don't think it's as simple as the grease on the workers' hand- i sort of sensed your sarcasm. I think it has something to do with the bulbs' effect on the inside of the headlight plastic. I've seen them mostly on our cars with the xenon option. A whole bunch on the lot had this problem as well. Not sure about the 2005s and I'm sure the average 8 owner won't complain over a little film but it bothers the hell out of me when I'm cleaning it.

The dealer didn't even try to fight it- "Sure, no problem." I wonder what they are going to do with all those headlights with the film inside it. I'm not sure if they can just be cleaned out and the problem would occur again. I've seen a couple on ebay.

Just got back in. Brakes didn't make noise the whole way home(Knock on Wood). Their replacing both front Headlights and the passenger side fog light. They said it was on rush delivery, so I'm guessing I will have them on pretty soon. Here's an invoice of the work.
