Dealership only for inspections?

Ok, so am I being **** retentive about this?

In my mind, it makes sense to spend the same amount of money to have my regular mazda dealership do my inspection and supply me with a rental car and no cost.

In my mind...I'm thinking about my dealership where they put paper on the seats so they don't get dirty, and your car gets a wash when it's services...no extra charge.

It's probably in my head that the gas station up the street wouldn't take care of my car, but it gives me the *******.

It's all about trust.

There are great garages, and there are huge ripoffs. There are also great dealerships and ripoffs. If you only feel safe with the dealer, then definately stick with the dealer.

In general, dealerships cost a few extra bucks compared to a neighborhood garage (don't pretend you aren't paying for that "free" car wash), but for that extra cost you get a little peace of mind.

I wouldn't want the dealership to wash my car.. I prefer doing it myself and avoid all the scratches.

Agreed. But I always forget to tell them not to wash the car. Last time the car was spotless when it went in and water spotted when it came out. Had to wash it again immediately.

On the dealer inspection thing, my dealer is giving me inspections gratis for as long as I have the car. Special deal handed out during an open house at the dealership.
