Ohios, time to take the snow tires off?

Since it seems we'll be out of the freak'n cold for a while, do you guys think it's time to take the snow tires off? Last time I took them off, it snowed a few days later. Had to put them back on the while in one of the snow storms.

The ten day forecast shows no days with a low temp below 30 degrees. Seems unlikely that we'll get any accumulation on the roads from here on out even if we get snow. Of course there's always the possibility of a freak storm here in Ohio, but you'll miss some nice spring motoring if you wait until May.

I was going to take em off last weekend, but then we got some snow last Friday night. The 8 is my only way to get around so I think I'll wait another week or two.

I dont have that much of a problem with my snow tires. I have Bilzzak LM-22's on my car. By far the best snow tire I have ever had. Possibly even better than the all season michelin pilots the Turbo Volvo I had before. (or maybe the 8 is just better)

yeah, i had the blizzacks as well and loved them as high performance winter tires, but i could still get it in a four wheel drift a bit to easially. i figure if we have snow it wont be anything more than a dusting and most likely wont stick to the streets as the weather has warmed.

I've had my 8 stored in the garage all winter - I'm DYING to get it out again. One problem is that the garage door is on the shady side of the house and there is about 4 feet of ice in front of it. I think we need to have a nice spring rain to get rid of the snow and clear all the muddy-salt crap off the road before I get it mucked up. Mind you, I'm a few latitudes north of you guys....

Don't know which area of Ohio you're in. If it's n/e, I'd wait. This is Ohio after all! I have my 8 in the garage. I'm waiting till the first of April to get her out for a few reasons. I can hardly wait though.

come on guys, for $1500 you can have a set of blizzacks and new rims (probably less as stock rims are going cheap) and not have to go five months w/o your cars!

I'm thinking this weekend I'll finally switch back to the stock tires. The Dunlop M3s have been fantastic for me in the snow. I don't think I ever spun out (by accident) this winter. Can't wait to have the wider tires back on.

I'll be waiting until mid April before I switch my tires. I'd be very suprised if we don't get at least one more good snow. It's my only car so I really can't take a chance on a decent snow and me having no way to get to work in the morning.

I'm in Detroit, and I'll be waiting a couple more weeks before I make the switch. Snow storms in April aren't uncommon from what I hear (I'm from Columbus, OH--only been up here for a year and a half). Remember, just because the forecast calls for high temps consistently above freezing doesn't mean there won't be accumulation. A snow storm hitting at just the right time in the early morning hours can cause significant accumulation, even on a day where the high temp is going to be above 45 F.
