White Shinka
According to my dealership, there is a red and a white Shinka. I must have missed that. I saw the normal Shinka and I said, "I didn't know you guys had a Shinka. He replied, "Ya, we just got it. I think we have a white and red one also if you want to have a look."
Was he misinformed or am I misinformed?

It's only in black cherry. There is mica in the white as well but it's not the same quality of paint as on the shinka. From what I know the white is a tri-coat and not a true mica which means there is a very thin layer of mica in the white instead of mica in each layer.
It's a lot cheaper to do that than use a real mica paint (like on the shinka) which is very expensive.

”SHINKA” in Japanese means “evolution” or “transformation” and with the RX-8, Mazda transforms the rotary-powered car into a more luxurious package. Only 2,150 “SHINKA” Special Editions will be built. This RX-8 can be configured with the six-speed manual and 238-hp engine or a four-speed automatic with the 198-hp engine and steering-wheel-mounted paddles for manual gear shifting. The suspension gets a tweak with a foam urethane filled front suspension cross member and specially tuned dampers to improve rigidity and stability. Outside the car features the Black Cherry paint (only color available), semi-gloss bevels for the headlamps and tail lamps and dark-silver gloss aluminum wheels. Inside you can sit in the tan leather interior and enjoy a 300-watt Bose sound system with in-dash 6 disc CD changer. All cars get a one-year subscription Sirius radio included. Oh well, I was wrong

Anyone at a Mazda dealer, especially a sales person, is the last one who would know any facts about these cars. I wonder how many people have been told the RX-8 has eight cylinders bangin' around under the hood? (It might get better gas mileage, but anyway...)
