If you have good taste in exterior aestetics with cars. The 350z is a very good looking car. An agressive looking car with smooth details. In someways it's like the japanese muscle car...similar to the supra's vibe(keep in mind I didn't say supra and 350z look alike.

An perfect analogy would be a guy at the gym who's pretty built but not ripped. like the "rock."


rx8 is a good looking car as well. It's sleek sharp lines and contours make it look nice.
I was debating between the two and I wish I could combine the two but only photoshop could do that. Personally...I love the rx8 aftermarket body kits! Alot better then the 350'z aftermarket kits.

A perfect analogy of the rx8 is a guy who doesn't have so much muscle mass but is ripped! like "christian bale."

 

Don't get me wrong, the 350 Z is indeed a beauty. Although I do beleive they stole many styling cues from Porsche, especially the 928, which I have to be honest bugs me a lot - bloody theives! The complaints of the 350Z from what I have read, is it was not built properly and proportionally inside and out i.e. There are mismatches such as too slow compared to the sharp looks, to harsh of a ride, sharp exterior cheap interior, etc... The 8 is virtually all original ideas and well balanced. Outside looks just as sharp as the inside, which is matched by technological advancements and engineering. It screams uniqueness and never gives anyone the impression that it is extremely fast or extremely harsh riding. Just interersting looking and sounding. Expression of art and engineering. I am sure that many will copy components of this car in the future. This car is timeless and if properly maintained will always look sharp and interesting.

Obviously, I love my 8!

 

I agree, both cars look nice and I do like the overall lines of the Z (minus the funky door handles). To follow your analogy, the Z looks like a full back, while the RX-8 is more like a wide reciever.

 

i gotta agree with you there!! the 8 is just awesome looking and performing! such a well thought out car in everyway. The 350Z is a wonderful car, and i would love to get a chance to drive one, but in everyway i feel the 8 is better. Although the Z is quicker down the straights on a road course, the difference is just about none! thats amazing that a car with less power can catch up that much in the corners! i really love my 8!

also on a side note, i dont know how many of you are familiar with the 300ZX, but compared to the TT RX-7, it was nothing. The 7 was better in every way, even performance, which is maybe why nissan still doesnt have the formula, and mazda does!! way to go mazda

 

I always did like the 300ZX, but the RX-7 just looks like a night of hot kinky sex with a good looking woman on wheels.

Well I tend to think I have good taste in exterior aestetics, but I don't like the 350z at all. It seems contrived and many styling ques seem out of place. I think the G35 Coupe is a much better looking car the the Z.


just because someone doesn't agree with you, it doesn't mean they don't have any taste...just different.

 

I like most people, looked at the 350Z before buying the 8 because you have to at least check out the competition. I drove the 350Z and didnt like its harsh ride, the stereo system sounded like it was underwater and the power delivery didn't impress me as much as I thought it would. Overall I just think the RX-8 is just more fun to drive...and thats all that matters.
