Angry Squealing Brakes

After waiting 3 weeks for my brakes, I just got of the phone with my Mazda parts dept and I was told that there is a national back order for these and there was no known delivery date at the present!!! What is so special about our brakes that they aren't several alternatives

My brakes are at the embarrassing noise stage........

That sucks... I had mine replaced last month and only had to wait a couple of days for the new parts to come in. Since more and more people are probably reporting the problem to dealers, it's no surprise that the supply of service parts has been exhausted.

Mazda did a great job of finding an alternative to the original brake pads, as my car no longer squeals and dust generation has been greatly reduced. This has been discussed before, and there is no quick fix for the squealing problem. This is why it took Mazda some time to find a suitable alternative. Keep in mind that they're probably working with the same supplier that produced the original pads. Since the replacement pads are now OEM equipment, they might be having trouble building up a surplus of service parts. There could be any number of reasons contributing to the shortage.

Sounds like you need aftermarket brakes.

i got the blow off line from my service guy. "Mazda doesn't know what they want to do about this yet". i was going to mention the TSB on it but didn't. i have to take it back for another TSB about the cracked defroster button. i'll mention it to him then.
