HELP!! Immobilizer system issue

I was doing the fog light rewire per the DIY sticky. I must have done something incorrectly because after the procedure the fog lights didn't come on at all.
So I reconnected the wire back to stock, and checked, all lights worked fine including the fogs and the car started normally. At that point I decided to leave it alone until I got further clarification.
Twenty minutes later I went out to head to Radio Shack and the car won't start.
Turn the key and get nothing! No crank, no clicking. Just a door ajar light and the flashing immobilizer symbol on the dash. I disconnected the battery, reconnected it, still nothing. Any suggestions??? I'm seriously stuck here and a search on the forum doesn't really answer how to disable or reset the immobilizer system.

Tried it, no luck. My 8 doesn't have the alarm system, just the immobilizer. If no other suggestions it looks like I'm gonna have to get it towed.

No tow required. Turns out I cooked the ignition fuse in my first failed attempt to get the fog lights rewired. 2nd attempt was successful.

I'm glad to hear this worked out. I'm considering the rewire but I'm an electrical moron; can you pass on what you did wrong for a nervous novice?

Ah, a fellow member of the electrical moron club. . .
My best guess to what caused the fuse to blow was connecting the wrong end of the brown fog light wire to the ACC wire tap. The DIY sticky is very large with many variations. I recommend that you read it all the way through, find the best variation on the original procedure, print out the pictures with instructions, and follow them CLOSELY. OMICRON has a good version as well as bobclevenger with pictures and inserts. Having the correct size wire taps is also recommended!
Good Luck
