Angry Never Valet!!!

OK so for the SEMA show in Las Vegas I could not find a parking spot and that First day we got there late. So desperate to see the show I said F it and did valet at the Hilton for yea $20. 2hrs later we leave the show to get my car and when I get in. What do I find?... The plastic that is around the shifter is cracked and there is spieled coffee in the cup holder. Now thats not a big one. Not like I cant clean it. But to get the plastic replace? and at what price?... This made me mad. So I went back and asked to speak with the supervisor. When he came out to look at the car. He said: "Its to small of damage to consider replacing". I told him I need to file a report with your boss. He got me all the forms to fill out and got a pick of the crack. I have yet to hear from them on replacing the cover. But I did send a letter to there cooperate office after 2hrs on the phone trying to get there info.
What a mess. After this I will never let any-one drive my car.
I would post a pick but I dont have film. Still It looks like its the kind of crack that will run.

I've use valet once before with a previous car, but swear never to ever again.

F***ing ****** were smoking in my car, that I don't mind since I do the same, but they dropped hot ash on the seat and burnt a hole in the velour!

If I was you, I would whine and bitch black and blue until they compensate for the damage, afterall, that's what I did and got monetary compensation.

I HATE VALETS!!!

I completely agree...for some reason this car seems to be some kind of wierd mystery to Valets here in LA. I once saw one kill my car 4 times trying to put it in reverse before I ran over and got my car...the best part is he still want the $5.

But the most mad I have been was when I used valet at a club...I walked out and this girl with a massive *** decided that my hood was the perfect place to rest her tushy...and the Valet didnt really seem to think it was a problem.

I valeted my FD at the Marriott in New Orleans on Canal St. for my schools homecoming and had some money stolen. Of coruse it was my fault for leaving the $20 bill in the glovebox--but now I only valet when necessary.

On a positive note, my wife and I went to dinner at a trendy restaurant in Atlanta (where even the malls valet) and I asked the guy (nicely) to find a safe spot for it - he said "... it's going right there." motioning to the "front row" where the hot cars are parked to make the place look high-end. He gently backed my 8 in a space between an Aston Martin, a Jag' convertible, which was parked next to a 911T and an M3. It looked right at home.

I wonder if he knew what he was parking

Small Claims Court

You are not getting your money unless you take them to court. I'm betting that you don't live close to the show, so this is probably not worth your time. Making things even more difficult is the fact that they know it's not worth your time to take them to court. Bottom line, your gonna have to pay for the repair.

Sorry

I've gotten the "prime spot" treatment twice in Buffalo at upscale restaurants and both times they suggested I go ahead and park it myself! Kids must not drive many standard transmissions these days?! There are not many RX-8's around here and I do think they think it is more exotic than it really is. To me, it sure looks like a million $$$'s...

I've never used a valet service for my car, but if I did, I would pay them extra to let me park it myself.

go make yourself a sign that says:

"These idiots broke my car and won't fix it"

stand by the curb where people come to drop their car off...you should get some action within 10 mins.

You have to wonder what dumbass thing they were doing with your car in order to crack the plastic around the shifter. It's not like it cracks just by touching it. They must have been doing something idiotic.

I don't agree you should just eat it. Hilton has a reputation to maintain and if you complain to the right person (not the flunkies in valet booth), they should make it right. Get in touch with the hotel management.
