Price on a MS 8

Ok so I am driving home here in Denver and there on the corner of the Mazda sits a white Rx8 with full mazda speed kit on it, tinted windows and sunroof. So I pull over to take a closer look, well the sticker in the window is $43+K Is that a normal price for an 8 with the MS kit on it? It has leather interior, 6sp, no Nav, Bose stereo. How much are the full MS kits running? I was looking to pay 34k for a loaded 8 with Nav, so that says the MS kit (exhaust and everyithing) is running $11,000! That seems a little high to me

that, my friend, is a greedy dealer.

Besides the fact that the MS version is all show, no go...since all it includes is a body kit.

So what is a decent price for an MS Rx8 anyway, since I love the looks of the body kit and am in the market to purchase one

the white ms kit is actually higher in retail oppose to other colors, i think b/c its new. You can check rosenthal out to confirm this. All this and the other extras sounds pretty close with some room.

If you think about it, 42k for a rx8 with a kit, I wonder how much a authentic one would be if it ever came out.

No more than 34000 period. You should be able to get a 8 6sp for less than 30,000 new. All MS kit adds is visual. Might be better off buying stock 8 and spending 2000 to 2500 to do apropriate body mods. Just my two cents

1. Get the model you want without any exterior accessories

2. Purchase the MS kit from a forum vendor ~ $3600+ (unless you want white, then you're looking at ~ $4700+)

3. Install yourself (very easy to do)

4. Save the rest for FI, so that your car will go as fast as it looks! :D

That is what I was think goforwand, so even with me being nice to the dealer it should cost more than 36k which is what I am looking to spend and wait till some sort of FI kit come available to make it fast.

The big question is: What MS items are on the car? If it's a "full Mazdaspeed conversion," then that would imply the bodywork along with shocks, springs, sway bars, exhaust, flywheel, strut tower braces, and wheels. By my math, (using the Mazdaspeed section of the Mazdausa site) the full body kit with the performance mods I mentioned above, including brake pads, amounts to $8505 in parts. Aluminum Mazdaspeed wheels are $610 each, bringing the total to $10,945. Magnesium wheels are $1685 each, bringing the total to $15,245. Remember, this is just the total of the prices from the web site, and I don't know if that is intended to include labor.

Suddenly $9000 over "base" MSRP seems appropriate.

The one in Detroit only had the exterior Kit (skirts, front, rear and spoiler) as well as the interior Carbon Fiber. It also had some UGLY bling wheels.. Other than that, no suspension mods were visable (yes I got on the floor) and it was a stock exhaust.

Ok the only thing it does not have it the flywheel and the carbonfiber trim. The rims are the Magnesium ones, so maybe it is an accurate price for it.

well if it had the rims on it too then maybe that price would be appropriate seeing that you'd probably get the kit installed by a shop.
