Hmmm, he would have paid about 30 grand for the car, I don't know what his rims ran, but estimating 4 grand for the rims, 1 grand for the tires, that still leaves him with 5 grand for the tv mirror thing. I can't see how he's able to justify 40 grand, especially when he's got like 13k miles on the car. He wouldn't have paid that much himself for the car new.

Well... you gotta admire his optimism. Bets start that it won't make it past 21k in bids.

I doubt he will get half what he is asking for. The reason he set it at $40,0000.00 is simple he know no one is going to pay that much but if he has the buy now price at that then the reserve is probly the same price, therefor if the bids don't go that high he can decided not to sell that car and protect him self from a loss. Happens all the time on "steal bay". I saw a artical that a group of people got convited for runnign up action prices one was a group of auot dealers the other an art house.

If you look, it says the seller LOWERED the Buy It Now price -- if it's lowered to $40k, what was it before!?!

I sorta like the wheels - but 20" tires seem like a (little!) overkill to me. I haven't seen the video monitor in the rearview mirror thingy - kinda neat - but dangerous.

love how he says the seat colors are "custom" to match the paint... if someone was buying the 8 on e-bay, they must know a bit about it to know the black and red leather comes on the gt package with no extra charge...

Yeah, I've seen that 8 and I think the guy is on some major drugs. Before I sell stuff on eBay I look for the same or similar product to get a realistic idea of what I can sell my item for.

Since I have been looking at 8's on eBay (to see what they go for normally) I've seen that most do not sell (I think everyone wants a 8 for $15,000...which is crazy). I think realistic people go in there and expect realistic bids but they don’t' see many.

This one guy was selling his 8 for $18,900 buy it now (6sp, 18,000 miles, clear title) and do you think someone took that steal...nope, the auction ended at $14,000 and with no sale. Unless they found something wrong with the car, I thought $18,900 was a great deal.

Note: I got a HP 850 digital camera on ebay and I was recently told by the GOB-MENT that the person that sold it stole it from HP still in it's wrapper (it was new, not stolen from a person) so be weary of eBay...I'm actually getting a little tired of their lack of control on their website.

Basically, people need to stop buying things on eBay that you can get cheaper at a regular store or online. I CANT STAND when people pay more on eBay (and mess up the whole experience of making a great buy) and do not research the stuff they are buying to know how much it should go for.

40K? That's how much I paid for my 8 (new!) in CANADIAN dollars. Bah ... if I were to buy that car, it'll be like 60K Cdn!!! It had better come with lasers and rocket launchers. Doesn't even have clear corners ... ha ha!

You got to look at it from a different perspective. It is not a car anymore it is a movie theater.
