WTF is the story with the fuel door?

I installed my pearl satin fuel door yesterday. After an hour of trying to “line up” the door, I gave up.

Does anyone have tips or suggestions on how to line up the fuel door? It’s a bit off center (closer to the rear of the car).

I had the same problem, if it wasn't for the hurricane I would be out there playing with it now. I am thinking about adding a washer on the bottom screw to try and force it to sit up a little.....otherwise I don't know.

I was thinking about something along the same lines as you to center the door.
