hey everyone

my exhaust pipes are dirty!!! what is the best way to clean them? soap and a sponge doesn't really work well when i wash the car. is there some other kind of applicator that i can use??

i want the to shine really well, also, i am getting the exhaust finishers installed as well. what can i use on them to get them to shine really good?

also, is it okay to clean inside of the exhaust pipes, in other words if there is something that i can use to make them shine, can i use the same product inside of the pipes and on the tips of the pipes?

I use the stuff I have for cleaning wheels. It's made by Eagle One.

I use a product called "Never Dull" with that it just wipes off with no effort at all inside and out

 

hmmmmmm u guys have a good idea with those products. but i tried them all because i work at Pep Boys and all i can tell you is.............USE the Mothers Billet Polish. it comes in a little tub and its about $11.......works way better over anything.....i can bet you on that.....i use it to polish other metals too.....makes it looks like chrome...

 

I use Never Dull too - works very well.

 

Is this good to use on the wheels too?

 

i use Mothers chrome polish.... just put some on, let it dry to a haze, then wipe it off.....

the polish is not supose to haze. you have to constantly rub the metal so it will become polished.......it is not a wax..........and no....its not good for the wheels....if you want to polish your silver rims......use carnuba wax......if you have the chrome set...then you can use the polish

 

i've just used plain-old-car soap when i wash the rest of my car. it takes it off. granted, i don't stick my hand inside the tip to clean as far bas as i can, but keeping the exterior of it clean with a brush and soap worked for me.

 

Wow. All I use is water and a rag. Then agen I clean my car every weekend:D.

 

I use Prepsol to clean my tips.
If that stuff doesn't take any gunk off, nothing will.

 

I use a sponge, and the Mr. Clean Auto Dry soap... It seems to make it shine...

I used to use soap, then the black magic wheel cleaner, but I took your advice on the Never Dull, and I'm sold.
My tips look like new; that stuff is amazing, and amazingly easy. Wow.

Cast another vote for Never Dull. Been using it for years on every finished and unfinished metal. Added benefit with the tailpipes is that you don't have to ruin another cloth or sponge. Just tear off what you need, clean and discard.

 

I just use the bucket of Z7 water and rag.

I don't polish the tips. I prefer the heated metal colored look vice polished look.
