The_Bean’s $14.99 Leather Parking Break

Well it’s not perfect or as nice as the JDM version, but it feels much better on the hand—I hate touching the plastic parking break. It makes it a little thicker and you get a much better grip.

1. Buy an extra wide steering wheel cover color of your choice. It should say for 3 ½ to 3 7/8 “ grips.

2. Cut length to about 6 inches.

3. Fold under and stitch—there are instructions with the wheel cover.

Enjoy.

Way to go Bean. Bring the other 6" strips to our next meeting. You did plan to share, right? :D OK. I'll trade some oil cooler protection material.

Great idea. But the execution doesn't quite look as professional as it could be. (Sorry, I know I'm being nit picky.)

Feel free to execute however you like.

You can make the lines look less noticeable by making the folds smaller however I measured it to my palm and it made the fit snug. In addition it can be made tighter at the ends if you really stretch it. It’s been on for about 6 weeks and it hasn’t budged.

My first thought is that it looks a bit phallic...especially that 2nd pic.

To make it a tighter fit, would it be possible to use a heat gun or something? Also, this would be an excellent chance to use different color stiching to accent the interior.

Good job Ben for putting this mini-mod in the Forum. I never did see a problem with the feel of the parking brake, but a grippier leather feel would be nice.
