seat cushion sucks
seat cushion sucks
Hey guys I have done some searching on this subject but have not found any answers to it.The problem is I am a big guy,but not really too over weight, but the seat cushion on the bottom of my car seems like it should be a bit more dense. The thing is because I am so wide in the hind quarters that my legs are sitting on the outer part of the seat.My weight pushes down on the cushion so much that I am hitting the metal frame work of the seat.It isn't an issue on shorter trips but on the long ones I find it to be uncomfortable.I love the way the seats gripp me but I think the foam or what ever in the side bolster of the bottom needs to be firmer.Does anyone else have these issues?Oh yeah I am 6'2" tall and around 250lbs.Like I said I am a big guy. This is the only thing so far I dislike about the car.Any ideas as to a fix for this?Would the leater seats be more comfortable?Maybe I could trade with someone.Yeah right. Thanks in advance.
sorry, i dont share the same problem. i'm 5'8" and 130 lbs. i know i'm a small guy, but hey i'm growing. lots of aftermarket manufacturers make larger seats. try maybe looking into some Recaro's...not sure about them though.

I'm 6'-0" and 240lbs. Things I've noticed about the seats (cloth @ 9,500 miles):
1. There is a metal plate with no padding below the lumbar line that hits me in the tailbone when the seat bottom is at it's lowest position (raised 3 pumps to get away from it).
2. The side bolsters are going to need more stuffing in a few months (especially the one on my left since I abuse it getting in and out of the car).
3. My seat has developed a slight sqeak when going around corners (I don't think the Japanese were thinking of a 240lbs American when they designed and built this seat).
Once I kill my seat I plan on going aftermarket so I can be more comfortable/happy. Until then I'll continue to destroy my original seat.

I guess they didn't have too many 6'2'' 250 lb japanese engineers around for reference when they were designing the seats
. You can always count on the american companies to design seats for the bigger boys.
