Can someone who got the Talon package last winter tell me what is the package include and how much? I assume you have a set of steele rims but just want to confirm.

Hello I got the package. With the cost of delivery to Toronto it costed 1,600.00. The package was as follows:

4 toyo grit HT 205/55/17's
4 steel rims--look almost like stock.
All tires were mounted and balance

You can get different tires and rims. However it will cost more. This combo was great the tires really held the road and the rims held up very well. In bad weather just remember to change gears at low RMP's, say 2k to 3k.

 

samyv2: Did you go through a Mazda dealer to get the package? I'll be getting that package for my car this fall, as the Calgary-area winters can be rough.

 

I got the package. Contact John at Talon-Tire. Look them up on the web - they have a site. They look nice - just don't forget to order the corresponding lock-nuts (not the same as stock).

 

Has the group buy for 2004 winter tire package started yet?

 

I bought the group buy package, $1600 and even with Alberta shipping, it was still better than I could find here.

The Toyo 'Garits' have the crushed shells in the compound, when you get on ice it's like the sanding truck just went by - much better than your usual winter tire grip.

Samyv2, you sure you got STEEL rims? How can they look stock if they aren't alloys? Mine are FRD6's, 17" (and as a side benefit, the 17" give a MUCH smoother ride than the stock 18's.)

I saw that picture of the rim, it sure not look like a steel rims to me.
