Squeaking Brakes after 2000 miles...

I've finally passed the 2000 mile mark and my brakes are making a loud sqeaking noise everytime I brake. I haven't driven my car hard or don't any excessive breaking (most miles have been highway miles). Could there be something wrong with my brakes or is this normal?

Many of use are experiencing squealing with our brakes. I usually cannot hear mine unless the windows are down.

Do a search and you'll find a number of posts on the subject. Some people have reported that Mazda is working on a fix for the problem.

Mine have been the same since about 2K miles, at 14K now and sort of used to it!

The only concern I have is that they are meant to squeak when the pads need replaced - will it be a very noticeable different squeak???

If it matters, I'm at 3800 miles now, and no squeaks yet. Car was built in Dec.

welcome to the club - my brakes have been squeaking since 3000 miles. I've tried the hard braking technique but it didn't do anything. There is talk that Mazda is aware of the problem and are working on different brake pads for complaining owners.

has to be annoying and embarressing as hell, I have 3700 and everytime I hear a squeal it has been from another car so far so they don't all do it. Hope they find a fix for this problem soon.

same here ... the more people call mazda canada and US . The more likely the recall or repair to be done.

Just need to make a stink about it . I already called mazda canada's technical line and an investigation is underway

My 8's at around the 6000 mile mark... I've been hearing it since the warmer weather hit - I assumed at first it was the cars around me with bad brakes. Nope... it's my car. I'm hoping Mazda will actually be able to correct this problem without parts that're backordered for months and months...

Mine started sqeeking at around 8,000. I discovered that the drivers side front was the noise maker, just by accident. Took it into Mazda. They replaced something, not sure what b/c the wife picked it up. But the squealing has been gone now for 1500 miles. HEY !!!
