just ordered one of these off of ebay! i'll post a pic as soon as i mount it... apparently it's just an insert w/ the proper holes drilled into the fiber to accept the pegs on the back of the oem badge.

the cf lettering would not look good imo... i like the look of the inlay b/c it's a solid piece of fiber.

If you take the CF stickers, digest them and wait a few days, i'd say 1.4 oz with a margin of error of 1.4 oz. About the same as a bag of Doritos.
