Cost of installation for spare tire kit.

I finally got around to buying the spare tire kit. Anyone know the cost/time of the installation?

I wanted to get it before we set out on our trip to Nova Scotia in case of a flat and there were no phones around for road-side-assistance.

Oh yeah, TGIF!

I did mine in about an hour here are the instructions
If you got it used make sure you have ALL the parts before you begin. It’s not a hard job.

I got the instructions with the kit, I'm just scared that I'll do something wrong. Then again, that's how I felt before I changed the shingles on the roof of our house and it ended up not really being a big deal once it was done.

Blue Flash- I was also thinking that I could do what you're suggesting.

I'll sit down with the instructions again and see if I feel brave enough.

Not much can really go wrong. Here is an old thread with some photos you can reference.

Just make sure you remove the PLASTIC pop rivets very carefully, they break very easily. Also when you cut the trim panel for the brackets do so slowly and with a sharp blade as to not cut away more than you need. There was a step that involved drilling two holes in the body for a spacer; I just used Gorilla Glue to hold the spacer up. The only other thing is to torque the bolts to the indicated specs. This is not a hard job so long as you have all the parts.
