decent review IMHO, compares characteristics with 350Z, Infiniti G35, and also mentions all-weel drive vehicles such as WRX Sti. I thought it was pretty objective.

Very fair review IMHO.

It's nice to know that companies are still keeping an eye on the RX-8.

Good article. The ride quality is a little off to me as is the 700 lb difference given about the Z verses the 8 but they capture the gist of the reason why the 8 is a good car.

Decent review, although I do not agree with the G35 coupe especially with the sport suspension being a more forgiving ride.

I totally agree with you. I am amazed at some opinions at times. When Mazda gave the repurchase option I went back to the G35 and the 350Z to reconsider and came away with the same decision as before. They are both nice cars but overall the RX8 is a winner over them to me. As many on here have said countless times, it is a give and take. The G35 coupe is a nice luxo coupe with a great engine. The rear seats are not adult friendly and Nissan's tuning on their suspension is off. The standard G35 sedan is firm but rolls-similar to my '96 standard suspension 328is. The sport suspension sedan and the coupe are jarring on roads with even slight imperfections. Same with the Z. I always admired the BMW suspension ever since my first experience in 1984 driving one. Mazda knew who to study on suspension design (BMW) and they came out with a fantastic ride/handling package. Check out that big book they send out on the RX8 and read the tedious work they did on suspension using the 3 series regular and "M3" as benchmarks. They say that they either matched or exceeded BMW suspension performance. We already know that Nissan recognizes the suspension is off as they are redesigning it at least as I understand it for the Z and that will probably change the others as well as they share some things. Some of the reviewers seem a slight bit to afraid to commit totally in any one direction so they look for somehting negative to say to balance the equation. I find it ironic that MotorTrend chose the 8 over the Z in their comparison but the Z was their car of the year before. Where does that put the 8?
