Front Plate . with out OEM bracket !

ok .. I got my plates today. Alas after the 5% tint, the moving video images in the dash and the blue LED's in the rear plate i decided not to add insult to injury and i mounted my front plate!

So this is what i did.. I drilled to holes in the middel of the plate itself. I located the plate in the middle of the grill and the screwed it into the plastic that backs the grill..

This puts the plate in the middel of the grill not sticking over the nose like the oem unit does.

Then i mounted my rx8 frame to the plate.

Nice. I modified the stock mounting bracket so that it doesn't overlap the license place, but I'd really like to move it inboard, closer to the grill like you did. I'll probably fabricate a custom bracket at some point, but right now I'm just glad not to have that way too big stock mount.

Hey, how about a side view so we can see some of those other mods?

Here's my front plate mounted on a modified stock mount. No overlap! Yay!
