Do RX8 owners have big heads? Or Egos?

I dont know but I think my Ego went up a little bit just because I know that I am driving a nice car. When I see another person pull up and almost break there neck trying to look back it makes me feel good that my hard work is paying off by people lookin at it. Every time I get out of the car I keep looking back and just say wow.. thats a nice car.. and it makes me feel good and gives me a big confidence boost lol. Or when I was at Home Depot with my wife a guy with a 350Z parks next to my car, gets out and starts staring it down.

Well me and my wife were walking back to my car and saw him doing this. I complimented him that he had a nice car and he was like "yea I know, but this 8 looks nice too" lol.. So I unlocked the door, said thanks and was on my way. It made me feel good that i was driving a "nice car". Do you guys feel the same way?

Ok I'll admit it too... I also look back at my car thinking, wow that's mine! I try to be modest about it, but just look at it! WOW!

Hell...i gave up on modesty after owning my 8 for two weeks...at this point, i am so happy to have a nice car...i have turned into a car snob...

used to like civics...now i look at them, and i'm like 'wow i used to drive one of those...what was i thinking...'

oh well...life goes on.

Yeah I'm enjoying the feeling while it lasts.

Though in about a year I'll have to prepare myself for the day that RX-8s get really commonplace and don't turn heads as much.

At that point, I'll just be glad to have an awesome car.

Pfft, S2K owners have big heads!:D After almost 2 months now, I'm still stoked driving this car. When the inevitable super-saturation of RX-8's happes, I'm gonna black the windows out, drop it, and slap some Volk's on...gotta keep da relationship fresh!

I think we're all very modest. It's not our fault that we're all supremely attractive, wealthy and smarter than every other type of car owner.

I love the looks I get but gets annoying at time. I've had this old guy driving next to me going the same speed checking out my car, AND preventing me from changing lanes.. argh.

I like the attention. Especially from the ladies. Went to Sonic yesterday to buy a drink. we all know how heavy a large drink is so it took 2 girls to bring me my drink.

I've been driving an SUV for 5 years. I had stopped paying attention to the types of cars on the road around me. All of a sudden when I got the 8, I check out every other car around me - why - because all of a sudden there is hardly any other car on the road I would rather be driving... My head is getting bigger with each car I look at !

The 8 is still a head turner here. I love it! Only two in town and the other guy must be a "Sunday" only driver. There are alot more 350's, G35s and Crossfires here than the 8. Fine by me... but when the day comes when the 8 becomes common... I'll be ready for some mods anyway. After almost 10 months of ownership, this car still draws compliments from complete strangers... it's definitely an ego booster to know this car gets a lot of peoples' blood pumping. Zoom Zoom!

I always wanna have at least one car in my stable that people notice. I am lucky right now to have two. It is very fun to have a car that is semi-rare and I love to try to preach rotary to any interested party.

i must admit i aren't modest nemore since the entry of the 8 into my life. i'd get out of my car and walk away from the car backwards so i can look at the car more (not a good idea at times... bumped into a poll once, a lil bit embarasing :p)
but my daily driver is meant to be my civic at the moment, but i've driven the civic only once (about 10 mins) since i got my 8.

I would prefer if no one else noticed the car. I don't want people making judgements about me because of the kind of car that I drive. It says nothing about class, taste, etc. I just bought the car because of its combination of attributes. I truly love the car too, I just don't place much emphasis on status derived from what kind of car I, or some one else has.

Plenty of "classy" people drive 15 year old Honda Civics. And plenty of millionaires drive beat up old cars too. I drive the 8 because I'm an enthusiast and the car is a fantastic value for the money.

Anybody can get financed for a decent car. It doesn't mean you have taste, culture, refinement, etc. You get that because you're born into it or you find it yourself by broadening your horizons in your journey through life. In, fact you might get there sooner if you buy a cheeper car and spend the money you saved on travelling, good food, fine arts education, philanthropy, and what not.

Class isn't about the possessions you have.

Just remember when your head grows too big that Sam Walmart drove an old pickup to each of his stores.

BasenjiGuy,

I feel the same way. I love the car. It's wonderful. But it's just a car. If your a decent person your still a decent person driving an RX8 or a lesser car. If your an ***, your still an *** driving an RX8 or a lesser car. Yes the 8 makes me feel good. Will the 8 change me or my personality. No.

In fact I find myself being more modest. I feel fortunate and lucky to be able to own and drive such a great car.
