I know to installt the MazdaSpeed bumper you need to purchase a special bracket for the foglights, but is there any other special requirements or brackets needed. I talked to a local dealer and he said I couldn't replace my existing bumper with a Mazdaspeed bumper because they were too different. Is this correct?

No. Unless you order a foriegn spec bumper from a country that doesn't use the front impact bumper that we do. That metal bumper that lives behind your plastic fascia is the reason US spec cars are safer, and also why the US version of the Mazdaspeed nose has an ugly black plastic growth on the front. Just order the piece from a US dealer, and you're good to go. No modifications needed.
