Unhappy Performance Driving Schools In the North East

I was all set to go to the track at Watkins Glen NY for a two day performance driving course being held July 7th & 8th run by www.Tracktime.com and they just canceled it do to lack of participants. Does anybody know of any similar courses that let you use your own vehicle, gives you a fair amount of track time and within 300 miles of central NJ?

A company called PDA does several at Lime Rock Park in CT. They are pretty good deals and the track is fun.

Question

Will driving your car at a performance driving course or track day invalidate your warranty. I am worried that at service there could be some codes in the engine computer or excessive wear that could cause issues. Last thing I want is to have a genuine fault and the dealer makes excuses not to fix it under warranty.

Thanks for the leads, looks like I will have more than one option.

N_Hart from what I can determine (don’t hold me to it) the key thing is the event “TIMED”? That can be looked at as competition and could void your warranty should anything happen during a “TIMED” event. What I wish to do it go to a “driving SCHOOL” that just happens to teach the lessons on a racetrack. I plan to retain any documents that show this is not a timed event and is infact going to make me a better driver. Now if I were to wreak the car on the track I doubt my auto insurance would cover me. Also should you blow the transmission on the track and Mazda service had to come to Lime Rock to tow you would put you in an interesting situation. Might be better to have your car towed to the next town and then call Mazda. But fun like this does have it’s risks.
