pics of neon in the rx8

wired up some neons today...sorry for hte badquality pics, my crappy sony digicam and my lack of skills to adjust the settings makes for some werid pics, obviously the interior neons are not as bright as pictured, but with night mode it somehow comes out like that always, too long of an exposure i htink...and the trunk neon is brighter than that but i cant get it to come out either

anyway, the interior holds four 10" tubes under dash and under seat, switch is mounted in the modified ashtray, trunk neon is a 15" and is operated by the swtich moutned next to it...

enjoy...

Neons aren't my thing either but it looks good. I think if I did it, I would have it a little dimmer... looks a little overwhelming. Good job though. BTW I think your JL idea is the best looking thing I have ever seen! I hope you don't mind but I am doing the same thing.

mikeb, are you using red too? I have like 4 neons that I don't use, but they are blue. Audiobahns too. I was thinking of putting them on inside my 8, but I'm not sure if it wouldn't look busy. I only turn them on when I feel like it. I mounted a switch for the hub I made on my former car so I could turn it on and off anytime. If it was on, it wouldn't turn on unless the headlights were on.

i used ichiban, i am street glow dealer too but our supplier was closing out ichiban so i managed to get a crap load at a good rate

but i do agree, street glow is the best, plasma glow is good too.

for future refernce, if people are intrested in doing neons in their 8, i would suggest mini tubes instead of big ones i managed to get everything to fit okay, but would have had a much easier time iwth skinner tubes...

I'll try a mock install (unclean install) of my blue neons inside my 8 and take pics of it. I'll post it here and ask for opinions. Since I've had a red car, I always thought my 2 10" and 2 12" blue neons are a waste now. Hopefully, they wont look gaudy inside a red car.

I'll keep that trade open for now. I have to test how the blue looks inside first. Thanks for the offer. I'll let you know...

I put a ten inch red neon on each side to light up the footwells at night. I hid them underneath the glove box and steering columb to be discreet and keep down the amount of light. I decided to hard wire it directly to the cigarette lighter light ring. So they are always on at night. My biggest fear was that they would be bright and overpowering, but they are very subtle. I went with red because of the red instrument lights. Ill try to get a pic of it posted.

the reason why i used a switch is that here in PA, if a cop pulls you over, and you have those on, they can write you a ticket

Thats not cool. I havent heard of that in FL.

Pics of mine wont come out right. The flash kills it and no flash comes out black.

looks good, i had some blue 10" tubes under each side of the dash in my 98 prelude on a switch, and they made for nice mood lights, not too strong, and it was comforting to be able to see my feet for some reason. dont go exterior, anyone, anywhere, just looks plain bad.
