are pcm reflashes done prior to delivery?

Hi, will be picking up my rx-8 in a few weeks.

I noticed that my vin # is in the range for getting a "M" flash

Will the dealer reflash the pcm prior to delivery day? Or is this something that the mechanics won't do until you bring it up?

ps - will be picking it up from avante mazda @ richmond hill

Some people have problems getting flashes, some don't.

Bottom line though, you can refuse delivery if you don't get something as small as a flash. Just ask for that the latest flash be included. I'm sure they will do it for you to keep you happy customer.

I specified that I wanted the m-flash done prior to delivery. I also referred to something about hotter plugs for the engine. The salesrep told me that it was done. I haven't seen the work-order so I'm not sure.

But I have no problems with rough idle nor flooding. Power seems to be OK. I haven't pushed the car yet....still doing the break-in thing.

I haven't tried the brake pedal test yet, but I figure if it ain't broke.........

My car was manufactured in March so maybe the factory had the problems sorted out already.

I plan on bringing my car in at 1500km for an oil change and plan on complaining about the ac. It was nice here this weekend and the ac did not seem to cold, but that's another story.

.

I was thinking if I should even bother telling them I want a "M" flash prior to delivery.

Like you said, if it ain't broke.....

I personally think this whole reflash thing is overrated since everybody on this board talks about it like there's no tomorrow.

But what's the % of the overall owners who know about this stuff? Probably very low.

I think I'll just let it sit - if I have any problems then I'll go back to them.

Besides, isn't there like another "N"-flash now? It's basically a never-ending story.

I asked the service department about the m flash about a week prior to pick up and was told it was already scheduled. my 8 was also built in march ... never had a prob flooding or idling. i believe it was done and everything is cool.
