Should I go for it?

Because of cash flow reasons, I have been waiting until this summer to buy my 8. So, recently, I have been making some calls.

I found a 6MT Grand touring package car that was a demo car. It has 5600 miles on it. They are offering it WITH brand new summer tires and a set of 18" winter tires (no rims) all for $2600 below MSRP.

Should I go for it?

I wouldn't go for it either, and below MSRP doesn't mean squat. You should be able to get it at invoice anyway.

don't EVER buy a demo rotary car

rotary engines last MUCH LONGER when broken in properly, which teh demo cars will never have

dont do it. they're playing you. 5600 miles on a demo car? that's total bs if you ask me. probably a used trade in and if that it was probably heavily abused by someone who didn't know squat about the car. at only 2600below msrp? that's still above invoice. go get yourself a brand spanking new 8 at lower price than that. those winter tires are probably crap.

I wonder if it is one of the "buybacks". ask for a printout of the vin history before you even think about it. se what has been done to it if you can. the dealer should give you a printout if you ask.

I wouldn't buy an 8 if it had only 100 miles on it. My first test drive was with a salesperson who ran the begeezus out of it. I wouldn't have bought that car either. I don't think the money saved trade-off is worth the unknown of what that car has been through prior to you buying it. IMHO

Patience will make your ride that much sweeter....and you'll have all of us here waiting to congratulate you.

2600 below MSRP is NOT LOW ENOUGH.

5000+ miles is a used car, not a demo. If you want that car, find out what it goes for used and then lowball that. Just because a dealer says a car has never been titled does not mean it's new.

Furthermore, anything more than about 100 miles, I consider used. My car had 6 miles on it when I got it and THAT is appropriate.

If you haven't already obtained some pricing info you can get it on Edmunds.com. compare the invoice vs the msrp.
Is this car used? a Demo? service history? Why new summer tires with only 5.6k? You would get a better deal at Carmax.
Like others I'd urge you to wait for a new car.
