Grad rebate good before you graduate?

Could someone tell me if I'm reading the fine print wrong? From what I read it looks like the grad rebate is good fro 2 years after or 2 years before your graduate. Being that I finished my sophmore year just a few weeks ago should mean that I can get the rebate, right?

Also, what do I need to prove that I should get the rebate?

This is why I ask:

Restrictions
Available only to Associates, Bachelors, 4-year nursing degree, Doctorates, and Masters degree programs. Can be used 2 years prior or 2 years after graduation for 4-year programs and 6 months prior to graduation or 2 years after graduation for 2-year programs. Can not be combined with Mazda3 Owner Loyalty Program.

no, as long as your +/- 2 years from graduation. I sent in a transcript, and got the grad rebate ~8 months before graduation

Wait, I'm confused... you say no but it seems like you then say the opposite. I just completed my 2nd year in a 4 year program, so I should be eligible, right?

I know about it...
if you go to 4 year college and shootin for your bachelors,
then you are qualified for the rebate since you just ended your
sophomore year.
all you need is a copy of a transcript.
hope this helps

this is also the only MFG incentive for the RX8 right now according to:

Okay, was this rebate available in October of last year? The Mazda dealer made no mention of it even though I told them I had just graduated from college! If I lost out on $500 of easy money... man I got screwed. Do you think there's any way Mazda North American would do anything to compensate me at this point? I know the dealer sure won't.
