*** Vancouver Monthly Meet!! ***

Ok, so quite a few of you liked the idea of a monthly meet, as well as starting a club, which is why I have been trying to get meets planned out here, I want that too.
Some suggestions for next meet were to do dinner then go for a night drive... I will post a suggested date for this tomorrow night, Will need suggestions for where and what time to start.
Need help planning these things.
From talking to BIU yesterday, we need to get a few of us that are dedicated to the club concept, sit down, and hammer out what we want to get from the club.... club name, logo etc, looking for people who are dedicated to this, and willing to meet up sometime so we can figure these things out.
Please post here, or pm myself, BIU, Rotary Titus, or Hitmann on this, but best suggestion, post here, and we can all respond and help work this out...
remember, all suggestions will be considered.

I'm interested. Evenings would be better for me, even on WE as the kids always have stuff to do during the day. I would be interested in track time, arrangements with a dealer service department to do Tech Nites ( and build a relationship with a dealer who won't dick us around) and drives........Duffy Lake road is a great all day drive in the summer Squamish Whistler Pemberton Lillooet Hope Home :D
Helping each other do mods, and looking into new ones would be great too ?

BIU also mentioned that he has a previous club relationship with signature when he had a protoge club, he can help us on the dealer end

I like the idea of the 15, or weekend closest too, saturday is usually easier to get us all out, due to either school, work, or other such prior commitments

The thing we need to do however though, is set up the club first, some way to know its our members, other than just that they drive an 8

logo, etc

BIU brought some thoughts to the table yesterday, now it is up to us on how we will make those ideas pan out

and also one more very important thing that we should all be aware of right now before we go ahead and make ourselves a CLUB ...

If we were to form a club, we all need to follow some set of rules that we must stick to, for the sake of our own images and the image of our club as a WHOLE.

If we become a CLUB, instead of just setting up meets on an internet forum, we represent something and we portray our club's image to the outside world by what we DO, so we would have to be very considerate and be smart about what we do.

So not to pick on you Hitmaan ( seriously ) but if we choose to take up the resposibilities and make a CLUB for all of us RX-8 enthusiasts to get together and share our interests, somethings will have to be forfieted because we need to care for the outlook of our club to the outside world.

Things like ripping around the Lansdowne parking lot :D

sort of the concept that we follow at work, we are representing someone else, and how we look represents how they look, if one looks bad and causes trouble, its all of us, not just one?

I am pretty sure most people would agree with that.
Would probably be a good idea to start our own site when we get it all figured out as well, and have all agreements and policies for a Club there as well, this way it could serve as a reminder to those who are newer, and to those who may forget.

your telling me you see one civic on the road and he is being a ***** than we all of a sudden assume all civics are stupid???????? or hell even when u see a ferrari on the road and it says Canada Ferrari Club and he is having fun and ripping it in his car ppl look at it and say omg he is from that club SHUN That group.. that must be the most baseless analogy i have ever heard

a club is not a political group where people look at the stickers at what club they are apart of... so that means if if i had a loud exhuast and i was just driving a parents gives me a disgusted look you think that can affect our group???? dude whatever

another thing i didnt buy this car so ignorant people like you can tell me what to do.. clubs are supposed to be a bunch of friends showing off their cars or helping another member out if they have a problem regarding there car..... and telling me not to take offence is stupid how can i not take offence.. i was driving around the parking lot not going over 80km an hour there were no pedastrians if i had harmed someone i would have to live it with it not you... i dont drive like a idiot on the road but when im on the highway yah i exceed the speed limit and no one in this club can tell me they never have... yah make a club where the members have to drive the speed limit... why dont i just buy a corolla and drive in the right lane alll day... your telling me people buy sports cars to drive the speed limit TO get them from point a to b??? yah right... you know if you guys feel my actions of that day hamper my membership in the club than just cross my name out.. if i am not respected than whatever i dont want to be affliated with it

AND another thing if anyone calls me fat one more you wont ever meet someone meaner than me... acting like your so god damn skinny... the whole thing with the camera you dont think i have feelings that i am over weight? that is true BS your lucky i just laughed it off and everyone knows i have a sense of humour but to an extent when you keep repeating the joke it gets repetitive and dont throw no BS in here that i am acting like a typical brown boy im sure you woulda done the same in my shoes.. and not like ALL the nationalitys are perfect either.... so whatever!!! that is my rant you wanna call me out vinnie there is my 2 cents inhale it and remember it

I totally dont know what made Hitmann explode all of a sudden..... without making this into a long arguement thread i just want to say two things which im sure all of you understand.

1) All the stuff about representing the club and whatnot, those are just the normal basic talk like the coach of a basketball team tells his player before each game....Dont turn the ball over, think before you shoot, keep your eyes open etc....

It wasnt pointed at anyone...its just the normal pep talk given before any clubs are started so we all know we are on the same page.

2) The comment about Hitmann ripping it around the parking lot was just a sarcastic comment....i thought i made it ever so obvious with the smiley faces at the back of the sentence...?

But if you mistook it in anyways or if i offended you somehow im terribly sorry i thought we all had a sense of humour

whoa.. ok, I think the overall point is, not for rx8s, but for clubs in general, if one member does something, it affects everyone else, based on the reputation it builds for the club.

No comments on right or wrong, or offensiveness or whatnot.

It boils down to that if we want to make this into a club as well with benefits and deals for stuff for our cars, we need to have a certain image to put forth.
An image that would have other shops, ie: rims, stereos, performance mods etc...happy with the image we represent to make them look good as well
Sort of the idea behind racing on tracks, drivers get sponsored on the image they reflect, the bigger the winner and the better the sportsman, or media representative etc... the better it looks for the company backing them... which in turn leads to more people being helpful in the longterm through word of mouth.

Exactly what i was trying to say....

Like the way you understood it, there were no comments on right or wrong, or offensiveness or whatnot...

Maybe i didnt use the right way or words to express it?

I apologize if my way of expressing lead to any misunderstandings.. im sure we all just want to make this into a successful club.

yah im not mad about that it was just my rant i do that sometimes... i have a very long fuse i bottle up **** once i blow up i lose it...

and about cars sponsoring good nice drivers i dont know if you know but marketers ALWAYS know that the bad ones who talk trash and let thier racing and there talk do the work for them always get the most attention therefore thats what in the end the sponsors want
