Open Invitation to all RX8Club.com members

The Rocky Mountain RX-8 Club is having it's first annual meet in Denver, Colorado June 5th and 6th, and I'd like to invite any of you who frequent these forums to join us. Maybe you're just passing through area, or maybe you can make the drive - either way we'd love to have you come to the event!

We've got members coming in for the meet from Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, Arizona, Nebraska, and Wyoming... probably between 30 and 50 RX-8s showing up.

Day one will begin with a Rally at a local Mazda dealership. We'll have a raffle for some cool RX-8 items, a couple of Mazda factory reps, a semi-pro rotary race driver, a rotary tuner shop, and even some performance part vendors offering a good discount on their wares. After about 3-4 hours of poking and prodding each other's cars and just generally yakkin, we'll all caravan to a staging area for a group drive up into the mountains. The road will be Colorado-georgeous with lots of curves so we can enjoy our cars, and we'll stop somewhere on a mountain top to take pics and have lunch/dinner. Then back down the mountain we'll go, thus ending day 1.

Day two will offer attendees two choices: A free high performance driving school (hosted by one of our members) then a half day on a local race track at a reasonable cost. The other choice will be another drive similar to the second half of day 1.

There's lots more info posted in the mountain forum (here) including a hotel where we've arranged a group rate for attendees.

All in all, it should be a blast. We've got quite a range of mods and members in our club, and we're expecting this to be a runaway success.

Hope to see you there!

Man, I am jealous. Sounds like a great event. And as a former Colorado resident and frequent visitor, I can imagine how great the drive will be.

I and my 8 where just in the Denver area!

My Winning Blue 8 snaped heads in the DTC area, Steamboat Springs, Cripple Creek and Pikes peak area for almost 2 weeks. Folks acted like they had NEVER seen an RX8!

Did talk to one 3rd Gen RX7 for quite a while at a gas station.

Also had a black RX8 park next to me at the Ameristar Casino in Kansas City.

Am back in Indy now.

Bob

Time to jump in here with my $0.02... Omicron & I are just curious as to how many are actually going to be able to make it to the meet, so if anyone is definately coming, could you send an e-mail message to info@rockymountainrx8.com ? So far, we're up to 16 confirmed! This is going to be a fantastic event, complete with a raffle for some really great items! :D
Just a quick bit of advice, it was pointed out by Mr. Kewl that Colorado can and does get kind of chilly in the higher elevations, pretty much year round. So if you're coming, be sure to bring a coat!

We need a recap!

How did it go? If I didn't live a million miles away I would have made it.
